A UTC police officer observed a white sports utility vehicle pass the police station on Houston Street and heard a loud metal slapping sound coming from the vehicle.

The SUV went on to the intersection of Houston Street and Vine Street where they parked at the curb above the intersection. As the officer approached the SUV, three men were outside of it.

He asked if there was a problem with the car. The driver said he was unfamiliar with the SUV and had left the emergency break on. This was obvious because the breaks smelled like they had been heated when the officer came close to them.

The men had driven home a student who was too intoxicated to drive. The student had been off campus and was dressed as a court jester. The student has been referred to student development.
