Police went back to the apartment and questioned the residents if the security officer had been drinking a beer.

Police responded to an alcohol violation with a security officer and two RAs. At the conclusion of the incident, one of the resident assistants told police they originally responded to the room for a noise complaint, not an alcohol violation.

When the resident assistants knocked on the apartment door the security officer opened the door. It was not until after the resident assistants had knocked that the security officer called in the alcohol violation.

One of the resident assistants said the security officer appeared to be drinking a beer when the door was opened. Later that evening, police went back to the apartment and questioned the residents if the security officer had been drinking a beer.

All parties involved said he had not been drinking a beer, but that he had been in the apartment asking questions about the incident prior to calling in the alcohol violation to dispatch. The security officer told police he did not have a drink and was in fact allergic to alcohol.

He said he had gone in the room regarding the noise violation and had gotten caught up in a discussion about the band the residents were listening to.

He was advised by police that it was procedure to wait at the threshold of a residence for an officer or resident assistant before entering.
